Annual Business Meeting Sunday

1. Ratification, Kevin Atkinson (Deacon Board)

Kevin is a native Idahoan, raised in the Pocatello area. He served 4 years in the US Air Force, attending technical school for electronics, working on equipment for air traffic control. He was Honorably Discharged in 1979 and moved to Seattle where he worked for Digital Equipment Corp (DEC). He was transferred to Anchorage, Alaska early in 1987. Kevin and Karon married one week prior to leaving Seattle. He worked all over Alaska, in small fishing villages and all the way out to the North Slope where they had oil drilling platforms. The Lord opened a door in 1995 to work for IBM in Salt Lake City, training IBM Engineers to service DEC equipment. They moved to Boise in 1998 and retired from IBM in 2014.  They currently own their own security business.

While visiting Karon in Spokane (before they were married), she invited him to church. He was in the Church of Latter Day Saints at that time and had never been to a Pentecostal church. He had studied the Bible and really agreed with the sermon he heard that day. He raised his hand during the altar call and accepted the Lord – “It was like no other experience in my life, the Lord’s spirit was witnessing to me that I had made the right choice. That heavy feeling of sin was instantly gone and I felt like a new person. The decision that day was the best choice I could have ever made”.

Kevin and Karon have been members of Legacy Life Church for approximately 10 years. They have been married almost 32 yrs. and have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren.

Kevin is the Leader of our Coffee Shop ministry, a School of the Bible student, plays Bunco, and enjoys being a part of our Men’s Ministry. He is the ditch lateral water manager in his community. He enjoys archery and rifle hunting, steelhead fishing and every other kind of fishing!

Karon is involved with children in our MOPS, Ladies Christmas Brunch, Bunco and has helped in the Nursery and Kid’s Church. She is very involved with outreach to her neighbors; inviting them to church activities and special events. She enjoys quilting and crafting.
